Description
The mermaid of folklore has sung her siren enchanting a fisherman from the deck of his ship into the realm of her water kingdom. Yet there seems to be compromise of love between the two; one who is water-dwelling and the other land-locked. She comes up on the height of a wave to meet his lips and embrace. The nude man sits on a rock feverishly grasping her with his legs and arms. The only thing between them is her long flowing locks of hair. Beautiful details are seen on the scales of her fish tail. The bronze sculpture was cast using the archaic method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina tarnish. The otherworldly couple are mounted upon a black marble base with artist Aldo Vitaleh.
